Terms of Use

These conditions govern access to and use of Barton County Criminal History. They address permitted use, prohibited conduct, third-party tools, official-record verification, intellectual property, and limits on responsibility. The resource is privately operated and does not replace Barton County, Missouri courts, MSHP CJIS, or another government custodian. Visiting a page, reading its content, or submitting a search means that you accept every term below. If you do not agree, do not continue using the site or its search features.

NO FCRA USE. Barton County Criminal History is privately owned and operated, with no affiliation to a local, Missouri, or federal government body. Neither the site nor its advertising partners offers a service intended for credit decisions, employment screening, insurance underwriting, tenant evaluation, or another purpose governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA). The site helps readers locate criminal-record resources for Barton County, Missouri. It is neither a private investigation firm nor a consumer reporting agency.

1. What This Website Is

This is a private reference site that operates independently of every government office. It does not store official criminal records, retrieve records on a visitor's behalf, perform official background checks, or file documents.

Its role is to identify Barton County record custodians, including the Barton County Sheriff, the Circuit Court, the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division Central Repository, and the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. It may also connect visitors with outside research tools.

2. Rules for Using This Site

By using the site, you agree not to:

  • Use bots, scrapers, or other automated tools against the pages
  • Violate any local, Missouri, or federal law
  • Stalk, harass, or threaten a person with information found here
  • Use the content for hiring, housing, credit, or insurance decisions
  • Attempt unauthorized entry into any part of the site's systems
  • Interfere with site performance or another visitor's access

3. No Harassment, Stalking, or Discrimination

You may not use information from this site or a linked tool to stalk, harass, intimidate, threaten, or discriminate against anyone. Such conduct may be criminal. This prohibition is especially important for the Missouri Sex Offender Registry. Missouri law bars use of registry information to facilitate a crime. Registry data supports lawful public-safety awareness, not vigilantism, employment blacklisting, or housing discrimination.

4. We Are Not a Consumer Reporting Agency

Barton County Criminal History is not a consumer reporting agency under the FCRA. It produces no credit report, consumer report, or background check. Neither this site nor its advertising partners provides a service designed to screen applicants, evaluate rental applications, set insurance rates, or assess creditworthiness. You agree not to use site data or a linked tool to:

  • Evaluate creditworthiness or establish an insurance premium
  • Make a hiring or termination decision
  • Screen a renter or housing applicant
  • Determine eligibility for a license, permit, or government benefit
  • Carry out any other activity regulated by the FCRA

When a lawful purpose requires an official check, use the Missouri State Highway Patrol Criminal Justice Information Services Division or a screening provider that complies with the FCRA.

5. No Legal Advice

Nothing published here is legal advice. General information about Barton County records cannot determine how a charge, conviction, warrant, or Missouri expungement law applies to an individual situation. Seek advice from a lawyer licensed in Missouri.

6. No Warranties

All site content is supplied "as is." We make no promise that:

  • Outside search results will be complete or correct
  • Every page is free from bugs, errors, or security flaws
  • The site will operate without interruption
  • Information will always be accurate, current, or complete

Criminal records change as charges are filed, dismissed, closed, or expunged. Delays and gaps can occur. No site content is an official statement from the Barton County Circuit Court, the sheriff, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, or another public agency.

7. Third-Party Services and Links

The pages link to sheriff resources, Missouri Case.net, state agencies, legal-aid organizations, and outside search services. Following one of those links takes you to a service we do not control. We are not responsible for its content, privacy practices, prices, or availability. Read the destination's terms before using it.

8. Intellectual Property

Text, graphics, logos, and code belong to Barton County Criminal History or its content partners. You may not reproduce, distribute, alter, or create derivative material from that content without prior written permission.

9. Limits on Our Liability

To the greatest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for damages arising from use of the site, including a decision based on information found here or through a linked service.

10. Indemnification

You agree to hold us harmless against a claim, demand, or legal proceeding caused by your use of the site or your violation of these terms, including related legal fees and costs.

11. Governing Law

Missouri law governs these terms, and any dispute tied to use of the site must be brought in a court located in Missouri. The Missouri Sunshine Law, Chapter 610 RSMo governs public-body records, while Sections 43.500, 43.506, and 43.540 RSMo govern the Central Repository and dissemination of Missouri criminal-history information. Those authorities do not make this private site a government custodian.

12. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be revised at any time. A revision takes effect when the updated text is posted on this page.

13. Cutting Off Access

We may restrict or end access to the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice.

14. Severability

If a court finds one provision invalid or unenforceable, every other provision remains effective. The affected language will be adjusted only to the extent needed for enforcement.
